A special day and morning tea at the Shaw and Partners office in Melbourne today as Liz Dawes, Founder of the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation, visited us to talk about Connor’s Run, the country’s largest paediatric brain cancer event with over 4000 participants.
Connor’s Run spans a distance of 18.8km from Hampton Beach to Alexandra Gardens; a memorial run honouring the life of Connor Dawes who passed away just shy of his 18th birthday in 2013, after a 15 month battle with brain cancer. It’s the same track Connor once ran in preparation for his rowing season and coincidentally, the length of his life. The shorter distance is 9.6km, from Catani Gardens St Kilda to Alexandra Gardens, representing Connor’s birthday, 9 June.
This year Shaw and Partners has put together a team of over 40 runners to participate in the fundraising event on Sunday 12 September. We're doing the run to support the brave and awesome kids fighting brain cancer and help fund the science that will one day end paediatric brain cancer. Brain cancer is the number one disease killer of young people.
With an ambitious fundraising target of $75,000 and $30,000 raised so far, we need your support now more than ever. If you would like to join our team of runners or donate to our page please visit https://www.connorsrun.com/fundraisers/ShawandPartners
