Shaw and Partners had the pleasure of hosting Mark Phelps from AllianceBernstein (AB) in our offices across Australia last week. 

Mark Phelps, CIO of AB Concentrated Global Growth, discussed the benefits of investing in a concentrated portfolio of growth companies with strong fundamentals, located around the world and trading at attractive valuations. 

Shaw and Partners had recently appointed AllianceBernstein as its international equity manager and included AB Concentrated Global Growth as part of its comprehensive SMA portfolio strategy offering.

Mark Phelps is Chief Investment Officer of Concentrated Global Growth at AllianceBernstein (AB). Prior to joining AB in December 2013, he was president and managing director of Global Investments at W.P. Stewart & Co and from September 2008 to June 2013, Phelps also served as W.P. Stewart’s Chief Executive Officer. He originally joined W.P. Stewart & Co. (Europe) in February 2005 as a global portfolio manager. He holds a BA (Hons) in economics from the University of York and completed graduate studies at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Phelps served in the British Army from 1981 to 1984, achieving the rank of Captain.
