Shaw and Partners extends its sponsorship of Women's National Basketball League Adelaide Lightning News13 Nov 2020

Shaw and Partners is delighted to have extended its sponsorship of Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) team Adelaide Lightning for an additional three years.  The sponsorship deal involves branding on the front of jerseys and on-court digital advertising throughout the season.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a North Queensland hub will host the entire 2020-21 season, condensed in a six-week schedule.  Townsville, Cairns and Mackay will host the 56-game regular season fixture, plus a four game final series. Each WNBL team will contest 14 games starting on 13 November, with the grand final scheduled for 20 December.

The sponsorship of the Adelaide Lightning offers Shaw and Partners with valuable brand exposure across Australia, where basketball has a very strong following.  The WNBL is one of the world’s best elite basketball leagues and, with the rescheduled Tokyo Olympics and Australia hosting the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in 2022, it is now a perfect time to be supporting basketball.  The popularity of women’s basketball has never been higher in Australia.

“Shaw and Partners is proud and excited to be able to extend our support of the Adelaide Lightening,” said Shaw and Partners SA State Manager Stuart Cross.

“Our 3-year commitment is a sign of our growing partnership with the Adelaide Lightning and our strong support of the vision and future direction in which the club is heading,” added Shaw and Partners Senior Investment Adviser Stephen Martinsen.

Adelaide Lightning Chairman Bruce Spangler in expressing his appreciation and gratitude of the increased support from Shaw and Partners said “The Shaw and Partners team have instantly become part of our Adelaide Lighting family. I am delighted to have such a preeminent and progressive national organisation as Shaw and Partners showing such a solid commitment to women’s sport.  The Adelaide Lightning are looking forward to working with the team at Shaw and Partners for years to come”.

All 56 games will air live across Australia – four per week on Foxtel and Kayo and weekend games simulcast on ABC and Iview providing more exposure than ever before.
