We’re thrilled to share that the 2024 Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic has been selected as a finalist in the Sports Event of the Year category at the 56th Gold Coast Sports Awards.

From starting just six years ago to becoming one of the most recognised and prestigious surf sports events on the Gold Coast and across Australia, this nomination is a testament to the event’s remarkable growth, excellence, and impact. With fierce competition among some of the Gold Coast’s most iconic sporting events—including the Gold Coast Marathon and Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500—being named a finalist is an incredible achievement.

A huge thank you to the World Ocean Series team, BMD Northcliffe Surf Club, the incredible athletes, volunteers, supporters, and Shaw and Partners staff who have helped build this event into a standout fixture in the surf sports calendar.
