Last Thursday, Shaw and Partners employees across Australia and New Zealand united for the Gotcha4Life Foundation’s annual 9-hour Row – and the result was nothing short of extraordinary.
The initiative, named in honour of the nine lives lost to suicide in Australia every day, reflects our shared commitment to building stronger, more mentally fit communities. Over the course of the day, advisers, staff and supporters rowed for nine hours straight, demonstrating determination, teamwork and a common purpose.
Together, Shaw and Partners raised an outstanding $166,607, with the Shaw and Partners Foundation contributing an additional $100,000. This brought the total to $266,607 – a remarkable achievement and a testament to the generosity and spirit of our people.
The day was made even more memorable by the support of special guests who joined us on the oars and sidelines. Gotcha4Life Founder Gus Worland was there to cheer on participants in Sydney, alongside NRL legends the Trbojevic brothers and Aaron Woods, AFL great Jude Bolton, and Australian rugby league captain James Tedesco. In Brisbane, Red Bull Ampol Racing driver Will Brown and his team brought their trademark energy to the row, while in Adelaide, legendary coach Bill Gaynor joined from the Grange Surf Life Saving Club. Our partners from Sorrento SLSC also lent their strength in Perth, underscoring the broad support for this important cause.
The Gotcha4Life 9-hour Row was more than just a fundraising event – it was a powerful demonstration of unity and purpose across our firm. By coming together, we not only raised vital funds for mental fitness but also reinforced the values that define Shaw and Partners. We are immensely proud of what we achieved and grateful to everyone who rowed, volunteered, donated or supported the event.
That is the Shaw and Partners spirit.
