Tom Norton and Danielle McKenzie win the Shaw and Partners Bridge to Manly News20 Feb 2023

On Sunday 19 February, the Shaw and Partners Bridge to Beach marked the inaugural race of the 2023 Shaw and Partners Australian Ocean Racing Series. (AORS). For the sixth year running, Shaw and Partners is proud to be the main presenting sponsor of AORS, a national ocean racing series attracting competitors across a number of ocean racing disciplines.

This year, over 400 paddlers lined up in the early hours of the morning underneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge to paddle past the Sydney Opera House and the northern shores of Sydney Harbour on their way to the finish line at beautiful Manly Wharf.

In the men’s category, Tom Norton (44:27) finished clear of Oscar Jones (44:36) and Luke Morrison (45:02).  Shaw and Partners Brand Ambassadors Kendrick Louis and Cory Hill finished in fourth and fifth position respectively.

Shaw and Partners Brand Ambassador and Race One Paddles Founder Jim Walker took out the win in the Over 50 Ski category in 47:22.

In the women’s category, it was member Danielle McKenzie who took the win in 50:15, finishing ahead of Sascha Taurins (51:15) and Hannah Minogue (51:26)

Again this year, Shaw and Partners generously committed to match, dollar for dollar, all donations made to Fragile X Association of Australia during the Bridge to Beach. Shaw and Partners was delighted to donate $10,000 to the Fragile X and renew his support for the year ahead.

The Fragile X Association of Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people affected by Fragile X and to provide support to them and their families. Fragile X is a genetic condition that causes intellectual disability, behavioural and learning challenges and various physical characteristics. For more information visit https://fragilex.org.au
