Shaw and Partners poaches from Rio Tinto News09 Nov 2023
Shaw and Partners have dipped into Rio Tinto’s ranks to appoint a new emerging resource companies analyst.

Street Talk can reveal senior business advisor Dorab Postmaster is set to join the stockbroker later this month in its research team.
Postmaster, a mining engineer by trade, will work alongside head of research Andrew Hines and resources analyst Peter Kormendy. He joins after more 3 ½ years at Rio Tinto where he was a senior business advisor.
Prior, he was a Mining Engineer at Yancoal and comes with experience in financial markets, having been a gold analyst at Morgan and an investment analyst at the Forrest family’s Wyloo Metals.

Shaws is pursuing an aggressive hiring strategy, seeking to lift its emerging companies coverage to 120 stocks from 73 by the end of 2024.

The stockbroker had added five new analysts to its research team this year including ex-Credit Suisse emerging industrial and consumer analyst Larry Gandler, emerging industrial, technology and consumer analyst Abraham Akra, PhD and emerging resource analyst Peter Kormendy.
