Shaw and Partners congratulates Shaw and Partners Race Team member and Brand Ambassador Michael Booth on becoming the long distance race champion at the 2022 ICF stand up paddling world championships in Gdynia, Poland over the week end.

Twice officials had to postpone the race start because of strong winds and rough ocean conditions, but when racing finally got underway, it was 2019 ICF champion Michael Booth who proved to be the master of the conditions. From a challenging start, Michael emerged as the clear leader and opened up an advantage by two kilometres into this 16-kilometre race that could not be pegged back. Michael took out the win in 01:34:31 ahead of French trio Titouan Puyo, Clement Colmas and Arthur Arutkin.

Michael Booth has been a member of the Shaw and Partners Race Team since its launch in early 2018 and has now earned his place as one of the best and most respected SUP paddlers of our time.

Michael also competes in ocean surf ski racing. He will test his skills at the prestigious Shaw and Partners WA Race Week in November where he races against the world’s best athletes in the richest week in ocean ski paddling history.
