On Thursday 4th of February, Shaw and Partners was delighted to host its first Uranium Conference “Glowing Up” in the Melbourne office.
The conference, hosted by Shaw and Partners Head of Research Andrew Hines and Energy Analyst Michael Clark, was live streamed on Zoom and well attended by large Australian and International institutions, as well as the Shaw and Partners retail network.
It was a fantastic line-up, with some world class speakers such as Treva Klingbiel, Sashi Davies and Brandon Munro discussing the uranium macro in the first hour.
The conference continued with six companies - Paladin Energy, Boss Energy, Peninsula Energy, Lotus Resources, Bannerman Resources, and Vimy Resources – presenting their stories. The Shaw and Partners Uranium Conference showcased a well-diversified mix of companies ranging in size from ~$70m to ~$700m and representing a cross section of Australia’s best uranium mine investment opportunities.
Shaw and Partners Analyst Mike Clark commented: “The event reinforces Shaw and Partners’ position as the leading research house in the Australian Uranium sector. There is clearly a lot of interest. Equity market returns for the sector are more than 100% in the few months since we initiated coverage. Investors are recognising that further investment in uranium mines is required. Existing stockpiles are not inexhaustible and utility companies are beginning to re-engage with producers on long-term contracts. As more contracts are signed, we think a commodity price spike is very much likely. The sector may significantly re-rate from current levels.”
Given the success of the conference, Shaw and Partners is planning on hosting the event annually.
