It was all systems go this morning at BMD Northcliffe Surf Club to launch the third annual Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic. The inaugural edition was established in 2019 to mark Shannon’s retirement from the sport.

The racing will take place at Northcliffe Beach on the Gold Coast on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 February 2021 and this year Shaw and Partners and BMD Northcliffe Surf Club are proudly partnering with the Summer of Surf to include the Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic as Round 3 of the series.

Shaw and Partners involvement as the premier presenting partner for the third year running has allowed the event to offer an enormous $130,000 cash pool, with equal prize money of $20,000 for the open men’s and women’s winners. For the first time in Iron racing history the addition of the six-person Mixed Taplin Relay Race will see the winning surf club take home $20,000.

The 2021 edition of the Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic is set to attract over 600 competitors from all over the country, it is certainly a race not to be missed!

The 2020 Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic was won by surf life saving power couple Matt Bevilacqua and Brielle Cooper.
