Shaw and Partners extends its congratulations to Shaw and Partners brand ambassador Kendrick Louis, who took out the title of 2019/2020 Nutri-Grain IronMan Series Champion over the weekend at North Cronulla Beach, Sydney.

The fifth and final race of the season named “Survival” is certainly the toughest format in Ironman racing: three separate, twelve minute Iron races starting with 20 competitors, with the last six finishers in each race eliminated, until the final eight are left in the race. A thrilling three minute countdown separates each race traditionally involving a ski, board and swim leg with a run leg in between each discipline.

In an heart-stopping finale to the five-event Nutri-Grain series, Shaw and Partners Brand Ambassador Kendrick Louis finished fourth in the last round to secure the overall IronMan series title for the first time at age 29. 

“It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been so close so many times. It was definitely worth the wait” said Kendrick who concluded the series ahead of Matt Bevilacqua and Matt Poole.

Louis has now completed an impressive trifecta - winning the under 19 Australian iron crown in 2008, the Australian elite ironman crown in 2018 and now the professional series title.

Shaw and Partners wishes Kendrick every success at the Nutri-Grain IRON X event this coming Monday 27 January, at Mooloolaba QLD, and at the Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic on Friday 14 February and Saturday 15 February, at BMD Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club, QLD.
