Yesterday, we were joined by Ironmen and Ironwomen heavy-weights Shannon and Caine Eckstein, Ali Day, Courtney Hancock and Georgia Miller to launch the inaugural Shaw and Partners Shannon Eckstein Ironman Classic, at the BMD Northcliffe Surf Club.

The race will take place at Northcliffe Beach on the Gold Coast, on the 22rd and 23th of March 2019.

Shaw and Partners' involvement in the series as the premier presenting partner has allowed the much anticipated event to offer a huge $90,000 cash pool and equal prize money of $20,000 for both the Men and Women's Opens winners.

State Manager for Queensland, Colin McKenzie attended the media and PR launch.

Explaining the rationale for Shaw and Partners' involvement, he alluded to similarities between Surf Life Saving and Wealth Management disciplines.

"When I look at Surf Life Saving [I can see that] you have to train hard, be prepared and make constant risk assessments, whilst not knowing what conditions the water is going to present. Then I look at what we at Shaw and Partners do in Financial Services and I can draw direct parallels. We too have to train hard, execute well, be prepared and remain vigilant; assessing the impact of ever-changing market conditions."
