Michael Booth finished second in the Mercedes-Benz SUP World Cup race in Scharbeutz, Germany to secure the 2018 Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) European Tour for the second year running.
Michael enjoyed a dominant summer in Europe after winning four of the six European races he took on with multiple consecutive wins in Spain and one in Greece.
Michael, a member of the Shaw and Partners Race Team, is a SUP World Champion and the runaway leader in the hunt for this year World Title series which concludes in Riyue Bay, China with the ISA World SUP and Paddleboard Championship in November.
Michael transitioned to SUP from Surf Ski paddling in 2015 and in a short time, has dominated the international SUP competition. Michael has gone from World Number 2 Ocean Ski paddler and Olympic-hopeful kayaker to World Champion SUP racer in less than two years.
The Shaw and Partners Race Team was launched in early March 2018 as a partnership between Bennett, Maui Jim, Vaikobi, Epic, Fenn, Oceanpaddler, Think Kayaks and Shaw and Partners to consolidate various individual sponsorships of athletes competing in a series of open water paddling events across Australia and internationally.
