Over the weekend, Ali Day – the undisputed King of the Coolangatta Gold endurance race – won the second round of the Ocean 6 Nutri-Grain National Ironman Series, held in Coolum QLD.

The Nutri-Grain Ironman Series, born out of surf live saving in 1986, has grown to become the world’s elite surf sports competition and one of summer’s most iconic events in Australia – where only the best of the best have their chance to claim the glory and the prestige of being crowned Series Champion. It is a true testament to survival of the fittest.

Ali, a recently appointed Shaw and Partners brand ambassador, got his 2018-19 Nutri-Grain Ironman Series campaign back on track on Saturday after a dominant victory over former Ironman champions Matt Bevilacqua and Matt Poole. 

The Ocean6 Series will continue to North Wollongong Beach for Round 3 on the 14th-15th December 2018.

Whilst representing his club - Surfers Paradise, Ali Day plays an active and role model in the community within which he lives and works. Together with his coach Zayne Hamill, Ali dedicates himself to endless hours of school programmes educating children on surf safety and the importance of a healthy lifestyle and fitness.
