Shaw and Partners signs three year sponsorship with one of the top Australian 18ft Skiff teams 05 Dec 2019

Shaw and Partners is excited to announce that it has signed a three year sponsorship with one of the top Australian 18ft Skiff teams.

The Shaw and Partners Race Team, comprised of James Dorron, Harry Bethwaite and Tim Westwood, are the current Australian and European Champions and will contest in the NSW 18ft Skiff Championship during the 2019 / 2020 season, with competitions being held each Sunday on Sydney Harbour.

The sponsorship will see the Shaw and Partners logo appear on the skiff and sails and gives Shaw and Partners Financial Services the naming rights of the boat. Australian Ocean Performance brand Vaikobi also joins the sponsorship as a silver partner.

18ft skiff racing has been extremely popular since the first regatta held in 1938 and this sponsorship will provide Shaw and Partners with valuable exposure in Sydney and the NSW region. With many of its competitors becoming world, Olympic and national champions in a variety of yachting classes, the championship provides spectators both on the water and along the harbour foreshores with the world’s most spectacular racing.

“Shaw and Partners is thrilled with being represented by the amazing high performance sailing team headed by James” Earl Evans, Co-CEO at Shaw and Partners commented.  “The 18 Foot Skiff is incredibly difficult to sail, requiring absolute precision to navigate such a small craft that carries so much sail. Nothing quite beats the sight of the Shaw and Partners skiff virtually flying down magnificent Sydney Harbour on a hot summer day”, Mr Evans added.

With this sponsorship Shaw and Partners reaffirms its commitment and support to community-based activities, promoting healthy and active life.

The NSW 18ft Skiff competitions can be viewed each Sunday from 2.00pm live stream on www.18footers.com.
